I really like owls and they're fairly popular once again.
I have recently drawn a few, this one is a little square.
These are a bit round. I was inspired to draw these last Spring, when my windows were opened and I was listening to the owls chatting outside.
Guardians of Ga'Hoole, this book series was just recently made into a movie. The graphics were absolutely stunning. A very beautiful movie.
Owls from my childhood.
Woodsy the Owl ...give a hoot, don't pollute.
And of course, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
And lastly, a picture of an owl to leave you with.
Hope your day is a hoot!! :)
I love all your owl pictures and the square owl the best!

That's the second time in three days someone has brought up Woodsy the Owl! How weird is that? I like your owls. There is a lot of personality in those eyes.

I love that you draw. I started when I was three. It was my obsession until I changed careers. I'm back to it now though. I missed it too much.

ReplyDeleteYes, there's something about owls. All your owl pictures are heartwarming. The eyes in the last one look right through you. No wonder they are always called 'wise."

ReplyDeleteI like your drawings! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post!
ReplyDeleteI always like visiting you, Heather - your illustrations have a quality that spans the gulf between whimsy and sentiment, without falling in on either side.
In less Mojo-speak, you're cool. Owls are too. One of my favorite books growing up was Alan Garner's "The Owl Service," which is about a set of decorated plates that may or may not be adorned with pictures of owls... Well worth a read, like pretty much everything Alan Garner has written. Definitely on the A side of YA fiction.
