Painted into a corner of my mural
My husband and I owned a business for a bit of time, but due to lack of funding we had to close it down and we very recently sold the building. I painted some pictures on the walls in there, because the building was constructed of concrete blocks and hanging anything on the walls was a bit of a chore. These are some of the murals. With new owners, they will be painted over and gone forever, except for photographs and hopefully good memories. Say Goodbye!! |
So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough
Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road
That chapter of my life is past and I am on to a new chapter.
Good day to you!!
I like your blog!...Daniel
ReplyDeleteMagnificent murals, I love.
ReplyDeleteWonderful paintings, Heather. Sad to say goodbye to some, but I'm sure you have an exciting new chapter ahead of you!
ReplyDeleteThose are some really beautiful paintings...and I can understand how you must be feeling...but then let's hope that there's a new adventure waiting for you out there....:)
ReplyDeleteFirst those are some very beautiful pictures. I know how you feel, I closed a business I had started with a partner after five years of doing well, but the economy killed us. It is hard to say good bye. Great post!

Gorgeous murals, bitter-sweet poetry, you are one talented person!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful murals Heather. Goodbyes are always so bittersweet, aren't they? The new cannot come into our lives without us sometimes having to say goodbye to the old. I am sure the new chapter in your life is waiting to unfold. You are so talented, no telling where your future will lie beyond the Yellow Brick Road. You really are amazing.
ReplyDeleteWow, your work is amazing! Lovely :)
ReplyDeleteI know that you've already progressed and posted for the letter "H", but I had honestly thought that you would dedicate an entire letter to the work you'd done at The Haven. Your work there was incredible, bold, and fit perfectly. Your pictures are what the bands and guests will always remember about the place!
ReplyDeleteThose are great. What kind of store was it? You'll just have to paint some in your home now.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say goodbye to something that you have cherished and worked hard for isn't easy, but new things are coming, new things to love and pour your heart into. Starting again may be daunting but so exciting! Just welcome your new chapter in life with a whole lot of those amazing drawings that you do. At least it will be full of colour!
