I have a serious tree fetish! I have to say, I am in love with trees. It's sad, but I probably have more pictures of trees then I do of my kids. Let's face it, they hold still and pose pretty readily. Kids are a bit harder to get pictures of, but I try to sneak a few whenever I can.
This winter I have captured a lot of tree silhouettes. I don't know what it is about the naked trees against the colorful skies, but I love the way it looks. I was inspired to give painting one a try. This particular one is done with colored inks on a multi use paper. I've also included some photos I've taken recently!
"I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes." ~e.e. cummings
Very nice composition ...is the treatmemt watercolor? chalk? very nice use of color.. I like this. the use of the sunlight in the background is very effective.. gives me an idea for some Florida beach pics.. I really like these Frank Laurenzana
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Frank! I just used colored inks for the one I painted, the rest are all just photographs that I took with my camera on my phone.
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane!
:)
Beautiful Heather. I feel there is something so soothing in looking at the silhouette of tree branches against the colors surrounding it. You painting is wonderful. Great blog and thanks for pictures that make me feel so relaxed.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I once did a painting, with very similar colours to the one have done and then painted a tree in the foreground. I don't actually own it anymore though as my friend saw it, took me out for dinner and then took the painting. Apparently dinner at Jamie Oliver's restaurant was payment for my painting! :)

I love the way you blended the color and love the photographs. I'm also a tree lover, just a nature lover in general.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rasz, I am happy to know that it made you feel relaxed. It is nice to visit other blogs and feel the comfort and peace that seems to radiate from them. I feel that way when I visit yours. :)
ReplyDeleteHolly, that is funny! At least you received some sort of payment. That's a good thing. And you know that they must love it. Also a good thing! :)
A Thursdays Child, thank you. I love nature as well. I keep a nature journal so I can draw all the lovely things that inspire me.
Happy weekend everyone! :)
Trees are wonderful blessings! Great painting in there :)

Thank you much!! The painting was really just an experiment with inks, to see how the paper would do with them. But I like the way it turned out. The colors are pretty cool. I may have to test out some more. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, trees are amazing. I love everything about them.
Thanks Kathy, I need to learn everybody's names. haha!
How fun, I would love to see your photos. I have yet to try the surprise me button, Iim thinking I need to give it a whirl.
I will definitely be popping by for a visit to all of you! Thank you so much!
Have a splendid Sunday afternoon. :)
I too like trees silhouetted against the sky and have often taken those types of photos.
ReplyDeleteLovely work here in this post.
