An Illustrated Life

Over the years, I have considered keeping a journal and when I tried to, didn't keep up with it.  What can I say, I bored myself to death.  I'm not a writer.  And although, I've had many great life experiences, putting them into words isn't something I do very well.
A friend gave me a journal a few years back and after a very brief attempt at writing my daily stuff, I decided that I was only interested in doodling and looking at it, if there were pictures involved.  I began creating a journal that was filled with my life in an illustrated form.  I chose various moments that caught my attention and put them into pictures.  Usually two or three per month.
Today, I ran across these journals and glanced back through them and thought I'd share them with you....and maybe get back to writing/drawing in them again.  I used to take them with me and if I had a moment, I would draw, look up quotes and capture the whimsical and magical times.  I know I've posted a few pics from it in the past, but I thought I'd add a few more...or several more.  :)

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

  4. Heather, what a great idea to draw your experiences. And what a thrill to look through the journals years after. You truly are a great artist and I loved seeing this. Have you heard of/ read the book of Edith Holden? She did something similar to this. Her book was made into a TV series and I loved watching it. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pieces of art!

  5. Oh Heather! Page after page of beauty...both cute and awesome!! You and trees really have a connection!

What a neat thing to be able to flip through...an illustrated thoughts book...not a journal :)
I might actually be able to handle something like this...rather than an art journal.
Thank you so much for sharing these pages with us!!
