Waiting....

This is me lately.....waiting!  I'm not sure what I am waiting for, but I seem to want a
bolt of inspiration to strike and it doesn't seem to be happening.  I drew this particular picture a few days ago, hoping that if I cleared my mind and just sat down and drew something, I'd get some moment of brilliance.  I don't know why, but it feels like I'm trying too hard.

This picture came about today.  We just visited the sea and it was very relaxing and enjoyable.  I wanted to try painting a bit and this was all I could pull together.
I had higher hopes, but it's okay, I know if I keep at it, I'll get there.
In the meantime.....

I got my art space set up, hooray!!  And I found this groovy old painting I did, back in the day....I was a sophomore in high school.  Good golly, that was a long time ago.  This has been buried in a closet for some time now, so I cleaned it and put it up.

Another shot of my art space and an old painting, which I didn't finish for some reason. Oh well, it's kind of fun to see these again.  I'd forgotten about them entirely.

What inspires you, especially when you are feeling like your creativity is lacking??
Happy weekend to you! :)

  7. I seem to feel like I am waiting every year right before Autumn kicks in. I get "blah". You just got done with the big move too. I bet you need some down time.

And as for inspiration...hmmmm...that would be coming over to your blog and seeing what you are up to! I love both your two new pieces and also your two old ones. As for the last one, looks completely finished to me. So glad to hear you got your art space done! I have to make another one, youngest son moving back (go figure!).

  8. Helen, there seems to be a lot of that going around. Something in the air perhaps...or we're all waiting for the magic of Fall to capture us. :)

Joanna, thanks. It was fun to find these old paintings and I thought, why not just put them up. haha! I am so stoked to have an art space, first time ever. woohoo.

Thank you Tara, you're right, it's definitely coming to me. I've had fun these past few days painting, drawing, just being silly. :)

Kristin, it is crazy how many people are feeling less than inspired, but hopefully that will change very soon. I think it's beginning to.

Danielle, it definitely helps to have more time and having art space is also very inspiring. Knowing where everything is and being able to leave out what I'm working on, is awesome.

Thanks Unikorna, I appreciate it and I will pop by and pick up the award. You are super sweet.

Robin, I agree, the Summer definitely has that affect on me and this summer seemed to last forever. I'm so excited for Fall and all the magic that comes with it.
Thank you, the last piece is unfinished, I did the face but never completed it, who knows. :) Oh no, you just finished that space, but how fun to have him back with you. I look forward to see what you're working on. :)
