Something old and something new!

I drew this a couple of years ago.  I love birds and like to sit and watch them out my windows.  I've always wanted to hold a bird in my hand and kiss it on the head, but they're probably not fond of being smooched by random redheads.

Tea Time
This picture is much more recent.  I drew this a couple of weeks ago.  I was inspired to draw this from a sculpture I was making, which I left at the art studio and have yet to finish.  I should probably get back to that and share a bit more about that project, but for the moment, I'm in procrastination mode.  This picture is a combination of black ink pen and watercolor pencils.

Sieze the day and have a cup of tea!!

  6. I like both of them, but the second one is really cool. Wondering, where did you get the inspiration for that?

    Good stuff.

  7. Impressive drawings. Yes, birds are cool. I'm a bird, I like getting smooched, and I have a fondness for redheads, but I wouldn't fit in your hand.

Helena, thank you! I popped by your blog as well and I love the digi art you do. I think I could learn a lot from you. I look forward to visiting more.

Tara, you're such a sweetie! I would love to send you a copy of that picture.
Thank you Bryce. I was helping with a class on sculptures and my sculpture was a very skinny no faced man on a unicycle. I haven't finished him, but I was inspired to draw a picture of him. The clock face inspiration comes from my daughter, who loves clocks and wrote a song about Mr. Clock. Plus tea time, is a happy time! :)
Thank you Lee! You're right, you probably wouldn't fit, I have very small hands. Fairy hands, as my daughter would say.

  9. Hi Heather:
That's a neat story! I must be out of it. Mr. Clock?

Oh, if you see this soon, come over to my blog. I've got something for you.

  10. Thank you Bryce. I appreciate the award, that is awfully sweet of you! :)
Sorry, let me clarify. My daughter Zara is a musician and at one point wrote a song called Mr. Clock, which is a person she made up and drew pictures of. She is also a fantastic artist. She and I have always loved Alice in Wonderland, which is why Mr. Clock in my picture has a bunny under one arm and tea in the other hand. I guess it's a compilation of many things. I suppose when I am missing her, I draw things that remind me of her. She was in town at the time I was working on the sculpture. My apologies, I get very wordy when I'm explaining things.

  11. LOL! No need to apologize, silly redhead. I had never heard of it before and figured it was the latest craze. I'm a little behind the times. But hey, my pet rock is STILL alive and kicking. :o)
