Silent Sundays: Friends, Food, Fun....

A hidden trail, buried behind the blackberry bushes.

An odd find.

The Headless Horseman lives in there.

A tunnel of trees
Waiting for the tide to go out.

I love fog

My boys...I think they'll someday join The Polar Bear Club.

I can't believe they got in, it was so cold.
One of my all time favorite bands...Eisley.  They were shopping for Ray Bradbury books too.

The boys and our besties.

Birthday dinner  for my husband, with our best of friends.

What have you been up to this past couple of weeks?

  1. Beautiful pictures! You must live in the most amazing place - with trails to walk and awesome old rusted cars in secret places . . . sounds like a dream. Thank you for your sweet comment - and I hope your husband had a wonderful birthday - you all look great!

  2. great photos! I love discovering secret places like those, especially abandoned cars, structures, railroad tracks.
The boys are cute - I remember being that age, my Mum tells stories about practically dragging me out of the ocean - shivering and blue - as I swore I wasn't cold. (Now I can't stand ocean temps below about 78 degrees F :-)

  6. Thank you Kristin. I do love this place, we just moved and have been out exploring everything. It's been a lot of fun to find so many magical places.
We had a blast for my hub's birthday, it was really awesome to have our friends here too. Thanks!

Lisa, I know what you mean. For the past several years we had a pool, but I hardly ever swam in it, because it wasn't warm enough. I am a weenie when it comes to cold water. I just can't do it. I put my foot in that ocean and it was like ice water, I don't know how they managed it. haha! They're young. :)

Tara, it has been great to find so many cool trails through the woods. I love it.

Robin, I do too. I want to see your doodles and paintings. I hope all is well with you. :)

Thank you Joanna, I believe they are enchanted. :)

  7. I love your photos Heather! The secret paths leading to an enchanted place... Wouldn't want to meet the headless horseman tho - lol! Your boys are polar bears - I'm shivering just looking at them. I went back thru your last posts and I think I'm going to check out that class. I have enjoyed your art too - especially The Harvest - very cool! I'm ready for fall!!!

  8. Hi Heather! I love the pictures, and the sceneries are right of our a story book. I could spend hours there. Those are your boys? You must not age like regular people. Hmm, fellow alien if I ever met one. :)

  9. Thank you Jessi. The hiking has been really great. It's nice to get out in nature, it revives my soul. You should definitely check out the class, it's really fun and kind of freeing. I need to finish it. I've only done the first two sessions.
    Hugs to you! :)

Laila, Haha, yes they are my boys. I also have a daughter, she is married. Haha, I try not to do anything normal. :)

  13. Gosh, it looks really gorgeous in your part of the world. Forests and trails. I know that Kansas is landlocked so is that a lake your sons were swimming in or were you by the ocean? (Sorry, my American geography is shaky at best!)

  14. Heather:

Your photography always amazes me. It elicits such emotion and power. I can't help but think of Frost with some of these pics.

Got your message. Thanks for your very sweet sentiments. Will throw a poem up in the next day or two.

    I trust everyone is well?

    Peace to you and yours.
